- The trend towards the balloon bike began in 2001 with the Big Apple: comfortable cycling without any complicated technology! The air cushion of the tires acts as a natural form of suspension. With approx. 2 bar, a Balloonbike rolls wonderfully easily and with full suspension effect. A normal tire with a width of 37 mm has to be inflated hard as nails at 4 bars to roll similarly well.
