The Dura Type insert pad was originally developed as an aftermarket upgrade for high end Shimano brake systems. Kool Stop's Dura pads are the same spec as Shimano pads and fit Shimano, SRAM, TRP, Tektro, and other holders that use a set screw.

Pad Compounds:
Black - Standard compound which is great for all weather conditions, but designed for dry condition riding.
Salmon - Famous Salmon compound is one of Kool Stop's most aggressive compounds. Designed for extreme all-weather conditions especially in the wet, but still superb in the dry.
Dual Compound - A fusion of Kool Stop's two finest compounds, black and salmon. Provides superb braking in all weather conditions. This combination produces a more controlled smooth stop.
Colours - Kool Stop's colour pads are a semi–aggressive compound that will give you good performance in all weather conditions. This includes all blue, silver, yellow, white, red, lime green, purple, and pink pads.
Carbon - Kool Stop's original carbon compound which works great for most carbon wheels but will wear quicker on fast steep descents.
Carbon 2 - This compound works great on most carbon wheels and is designed to withstand those fast steep descents without a lot of pad wear.
Ceramic (Green) - This Z-Chromium compound was designed for rims with a ceramic coated braking surface, and is great in all weather conditions.
