Ritchey / Team Comp / 1985

Available only in red, the Team Comp was another one of Tom’s masterpieces.  Most notable is the geometry - it's what’s often referred to as ‘slack NorCal geometry’, which to me translates as very stable and easy to ride. It was released as the name would suggest for competition riding.  Tom talks about being able to push his mountain bikes hard in the dirt and yet maintain the best features of riding a road bike. Ritchey started making the Team Comp in 1983 and it was second only to the Annapurna, which was the top model Ritchey offered. It featured Custom Columbus SP double butted tubing generally reserved for road bikes and was completely fillet brazed from back to front.
