Ritchey / Commando / 1985

The Commando first made its appearance in the 1984 catalogue. It was marketed as a true battle companion that would take you anywhere in all conditions. Original paint is by Rick Stefani of D & D Cycles who painted all of the Commandos. I used Bullseye cranks and hubs - while not catalogue spec they have the same kind of work ethic that Commando does - and they are period correct. Commandos are rare to see in this condition - I think they were perceived as indestructible - since this was not the case many of them ended up bent beyond repair or rusted out. The matching handlebars were a factory upgrade - costing an extra $120 - as a result many shipped with the stock black Ritchey aluminum bullmoose.
