Ritchey / Annapurna / 1983

This 1983 Annapurna looks just as new as it did the day it was shipped 40 years ago. The gentleman who ordered it (Dick Cruz) knew Tom and asked for the best bike he had in the lineup with the best components possible, hence the Campagnolo. It was delivered with a bi-plane fork, and a while later, Tom called him up and told him he was sending out his latest creation the ‘Unifork’. He put it on and proceeded to misplace the bi-plane. While unfortunate, it is of little concern to me now. The 1983 Ritchey catalog says the Annapurna was designed for “off-road, city biking, and luxury cruising.” I wonder how many of these were taken off-road.
