Cook Bros. Racing / Alpine / 1981

Originally sold out of North Cove Cycles in Vancouver - this Alpine (#04) is a true survivor. In 1972 Cook Bros. Racing started out designing and making high end BMX bikes and parts. In 1978 the 3 Bar cruiser was released and would become a popular bike to modify into a ‘fat tire flyer’ or as they would later be called ‘mountain bikes’. Seeing their frames modified to accommodate derailleurs and triple cranks Gary and Craig Cook designed and built the Alpine for ‘off-road mountain riders and rural enthusiasts.’ The production run of these bikes would be less than 30 as in 1983 Cook Bros. Racing would be sold. The new owner would design his own version of a mountain bike and ultimately only make mountain bike parts.
