Brodie / Sovereign / 1993

Paul Brodie’s personal bike. In 1986, Paul left Rocky Mountain and started Brodie Research and Technology. He is known as a pioneer of the modern mountain bike and is revered for his groundbreaking designs. Credited with the Vancouver trademark sloping top tube, the now iconic and much sought after Gatorblade Fork which has blades that are bonded and screwed to a CNC machined Brodie crown, the Brake Booster and his Love Handles are all his own designs. This particular Sovereign utilizes Tange Prestige tubing and is the first of his frames to be equipped with CNC machined dropouts. When this bike was built it was Paul’s top level model, and is equipped with a fillet brazed ICR stem.
