"Canada Day Staff Tour" - Tales from the Trails

"Canada Day Staff Tour" - Tales from the Trails

The team posted up at the Periscope Playhouse. Our parking spot in Port Burwell for the weekend. We wanted to take advantage of our time off for Canada Day and see some of our favourite camping spots within a days reach of London.

Lets start off with a bike check:

Wyatt's Freschi with a nice mix of Cannondale and Serratus panniers. Soma rack, Brooks Cambium saddle.

Mateus' Marinoni. Lots of comfort, storage, and class.

Dan's Red Rocket. He hand made his leather handlebar tape out of a couch cushion. And many other oddities on this bike for that matter. Mad water storage.

Carson's "PooShit" Peugeot. Rando bag and stem caddie from Atwater. Ancient Brooks B17 short nose.

Rogan's freshly built Cannondale ST600. Bar end shifters, lots of storage capacity in those Axiom panniers.

Mason's Miyata 1000LT. Dialled in with front lowrider panniers, a rando box from Atwater, and a luxurious Hubba Hubba tent.

Ron's Miyata 610. Really sick matching Serratus pannier set. Newbaums cotton cloth bartape for maximum comfort and drip.

Royce's Trek Elence. Ultra light fishing machine. Brooks B17, Newbaums cotton bartape, Tioga stem caddie.

Once we had all the bikes unloaded from the car, we set off towards Port Rowan.

Truckin' down the road in proper pace line formation.

Pit stop at the BB Ranch.

An Osprey watching over Carson and Royce.

The Stelco Steel factory provides a great way-finder.

Evan won "most scenic campsite" with his hammock setup. Along the Lake Eerie beach.

Boys will be boys.

The second day rained off an on so ponchos were a nice piece of kit.

Pit stop at the Delhi Velodrome.

Ben Dan Mason Mateus Wyatt Carson Rogan Evan Ronnie Royce. Delhi Velodrome, 2025.

We turned onto a freshly constructed sand road and it started raining really hard. The boys were not stoked.

Dan the touring legend.

We made it out the other side and all was well.

Rare Wyatt sighting.

After a pit stop at the Langton General Store, we made it to our second destination- Deer Creek Conservation Area.

Good campground with boats to rent, showers, running water and electricity.

The morning after was slow and filled with fishing, snacking, and lounging. It was also a good time to clean our bikes after the slop of the second day.

The ride back from Deer Creek was windy but scenic.

The Honk Machine.

Another beautiful tour in the books. Happy Canada Day folks.
